The Most Common Penis Disorders

Following are a couple of penis disorders that we have analyzed. Certainly, there are more similar problems, but these look like the ones most people are concerned with.

The most common penis disorders are impotence, priapism, balanitis, phimosis and Peyronie’s disease.

Impotence (Erectile dysfunction) is the disability of a man whether to get an erection or to hold the erection long enough for satisfactory sexual performance. This is a regular problem affecting as many as 15 million men in the United States. The most men that are 40 have by now encountered impotence at least once in their lives.

When only a single episode occurs, the best action to do is forget about it. Crisis grows when impotence start to happen more frequently.

Just like with any other medical condition, when person begins having this problem a number of times, he requires to see a doctor. The doctor will wish to exclude possible past disease, injury, or pharmaceutical side effects.

Impotence also may have different causes like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heavy smoking, neurological diseases, stroke, alcoholism and drug abuse.

penis disordersPriapism is a continual, usually painful erection. The erection may go on for a several hours to a couple of days in extreme situations. An erection as a result of priapism is not sexually produced nor will it be finished by ejaculation. Priapism occurs when blood goes into the erectile tissues but can not flow out.

Balanitis is state when foreskin (the skin that protects the glans of uncircumcised men) become swollen. In case that the penis head swells at the same time this problem is recognized as balanoposthitis. The typical side effects of this penis disease are redness, itching and a bad scented excrete.

Phimosis is when the foreskin is extra tense and is not able to be retracted. In case of a Phimosis the head is not able to get out.

Phimosis, which is identified frequently in infants, is often existing at birth. Besides it may be a result of a skin infection, or by scar tissue created after injury or infection. An additional source of phimosis is balanitis, which results in scars and rigidity of the foreskin. Fast and effective medical attention is needed if the condition makes urination hard or impossible.

Paraphimosis happens when the foreskin, after it retracted, is unable to get back into the regular position. Paraphimosis may happen after an erection or sexual activity, or as after the trauma to the penile head.

With paraphimosis, the foreskin will become trapped behind the ridge of the head. If this condition lasts longer, it can cause pain and swelling, and impact blood circulation which in most severe cases may result in gangrene.

Other Penis Disorders – Diseases

Amongst other penis disorders Peyronie’s Disease has the most important place. It is an aberrant bend in the penis that arises during erection. A man with Peyronie’s Disease has fibrous tissue in his penis which prevents the organ to enlarge during an erection.

Approximately 3% of the all male population has a curved penis. It typically occurs in the ages of 40-65, but it might also occur in men as young as 13-14.

Indicators of the Peyronie’s disease are:

  1. Visible curve on penis when erected
  2. Noticeable narrowing of the sexual organ
  3. Hard mass of tissue accumulation
  4. Unpleasant erection making coitus impossible or complicated

Peyronie’s Disease is usually progressive and leads to erectile dysfunction or inability to have intercourse. Therefore, if you see a minor curve during erection, you should promptly take an action before it complicates. For curvatures correction we highly recommend penis stretchers as the only proven non-surgical method.

Clearly, it is impossible to put everything about sexual problems into just one post. But you can’t dispute that you have just contributed to your penis disorders understanding, and it is time well spent.
